Kerry is the founder and owner of Morningstar tattoo studio that she opened in June 2019 alongside her husband Halo. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength each year, offering not just tattoos but also body piercing and custom designs that reflect individual self-expression.
Before opening the studio, Kerry was a barber with nearly 20 years of experience in the industry, and she finds it hard to give up her passion for hair cutting. You can often find her lending a hand at a local barbershop or occasionally working from the front of her studio.
Kerry is incredibly busy, driven by her passion for improving our town. She is frequently seen collaborating with our local BID to create fun half-term trails for children. There is always a side project on the go, showcasing her commitment to the community.
Her love for the studio is unconditional, making it her first priority. Kerry enjoys being hands-on in the business, embracing her role without the need to be a 'boss.'

Our most experienced tattoo artist has over 30 years in the trade, with more than 20 years spent working in Weymouth. He has witnessed many evolutions in tattooing, particularly in terms of technology, methods, and styles. Passionate about self-expression, he loves a challenge and embraces every opportunity to progress as an artist. With a strong medical background, he possesses incredible skills in body piercing, including body modifications, which he shares by training the shop's piercers to be some of the most skilled in town. He also provides training to local environmental health professionals, thanks to his extensive knowledge and medical expertise. Notably, he was the first tattoo artist in the U.K. to establish a tattoo studio on the high street, helping to bring the craft out of back alleys and dispelling the sailor stigmatization associated with the trade. His banter keeps everyone on their toes.

From model maker to tattoo artist, Ren left behind many years of teaching in our local schools to fully commit to his lifelong passion for art and self-expression through various creative outlets.
Ren accidentally landed at Morningstar, where he initially came in to help out at the desk on a few weekends, and the rest is history.
Seven years later, he has become an invaluable member of the team, contributing his skills as a tattoo artist in our hygienic tattoo studio.
Ren has a passion for all things Star Wars and Pokémon-related, and he proudly embraces his roles as our resident pirate and viking!
He is fun-loving and dedicated to art in all its forms, often creating custom designs that resonate with our clients. His enthusiasm makes him a fantastic asset to our team.

During lockdown, Lee realized that he was far from happy in his career, and since then, he has fully immersed himself in the tattoo industry like a sponge. His thirst for knowledge and his hunger to become a skilled tattoo artist has made Lee's journey with us exceptional. He is constantly on the hunt for new techniques and will always rapidly work out how he can rise to the challenge, ensuring he operates in a hygienic tattoo studio. As a fellow geek, he has amalgamated perfectly into the team, and his energy and skill have made him an incredible and much-valued addition, enhancing our collective commitment to self-expression through art!

Sian
Sian is the most recent member of the team and stands out as she never actually applied for a job with Morningstar. After visiting the tattoo studio as a customer on a few occasions, Kerry recognized her potential and approached her, despite Sian already having a job within the NHS. It was a gamble that paid off, as a week later she agreed to leave the NHS and join Morningstar.
Sian runs the desk and handles most of the body piercing within the studio, specializing in custom designs that promote self-expression.
